- After drawing in the Battle for SHU-premacy, the Seton Hall men's soccer team returned home to Owen T. Carroll Field to play host to No. 18 Xavier Musketeers.
- Joaquin Brizuela and Tim Valentine battled through a stout Musketeers defense, finding multiple explosive chances. However, they continually found their way into the mitts of Xavier's keeper, Jonny Dennell. However, Devin Armstrong did the same for the Pirates, erasing every single one of the opposition's chances. By the time the final whistle sounded, neither side managed to break the stalemate, ending the match in a scoreless draw.
- Georgetown enters the match with one of the nation's best offenses. Through 12 matches, they average 2.92 goals per game (5th), 7.00 shots on goal per game (23rd) and a +25 goal differential (T-3rd).
- This season, the Hoyas have produced four double-digit points players with multiple on the precipice. Despite missing three matches to play with the Indonesian National Team, striker Mitchell Baker is tied for the team lead with 19 points (8 G, 3A), alongside midfielder Matthew Van Horn (6G, 7A). Behind them, midfielder Mateo Ponce Ocampo and defender Tate Lampman sit on 13 and 12 points, respectively.
- In net, Charlie DeMarco has had a standout campaign in his first season starting between the posts. The junior has a 0.77 GAA and 31 saves in 12 starts this season.
- The Pirates are 17-26-5 all-time against the Hoyas, with the first match between the two programs coming in 1963.
- When playing at Georgetown, the Pirates are 6-16-1 all-time.
- The two sides met last season at Owen T. Carroll Field in a physical midseason clash. Despite a strong first half, the Pirates' offense began to fade away in the closing stages of the match. However, the defense held strong to preserve a 0-0 draw amid an onslaught of Georgetown shots.
