Â
For a third straight match to begin the season, the Pirates were victorious in the opening set, but for the second consecutive match, dropped the next three. The Hall was outlasted, 28-26, in an epic third set that gave the Bisons the match lead.
Â

Â
Freshman Rowan Carr (Lakeville, Minn.) had a team-high 17 digs.
Â
SET 1:
Seton Hall came out of the gate strong, recording a .333 attack percentage in the opening set. A kill by Asli Subasili (Tekirdag, Turkey) only five points into the match gave The Hall a 3-2 lead, and it stayed in front the rest of the way. Leading 22-20, the Pirates scored three of the last four points to clinch a 25-21 victory. A kill by freshman Alex Rasmussen (Lincoln, Neb.) put The Hall in set point, and a Lipscomb attack error provided the 25th point.
Â
SET 2:
Lipscomb bounced back in the second set, leading wire-to-wire. The Bisons had a sizeable lead for most of the set until the Pirates made a late run. Trailing 21-15, The Hall went on a 6-1 run, and a kill by freshman Daria Safian (Moscow, Russia) cut its deficit to 22-21. The Pirates couldn't find the equalizer, however, as Lipscomb scored the last three points of the set consecutively.Â
Â
SET 3:
The third set was by far the closest of the match, featuring 14 ties and a final score in which both teams scored more than 25 points. With the score tied at 11, the Pirates scored seven of the next eight points to grab an 18-13 advantage.  Down 22-17, the Bisons went on a 6-1 run to tie the score at 23. A block by Reich and Rasmussen put The Hall in set point, but Lipscomb was able to tie the score at 24. The Hall then staved off two Bison set points before ultimately falling, 28-26.
Â
SET 4:
Seton Hall scored five of the first six points of the fourth set, but Lipscomb answered with a 6-1 run to take the early lead. With the score tied at 17, the Bisons went on another 6-1 burst to grab a commanding 23-18 advantage. A kill by Reich paused Lipscomb momentum, but the Bisons were able to close out the set, 25-19, to complete the four-set victory.
