- Another scoring opportunity arose for The Hall in the third inning, but a bases-loaded pop-up with two outs halted that Pirate surge.
- After a three-run counter by the Bulldogs, in the top of the fifth, the Pirates found themselves down 3-1 heading into the bottom of the inning.
- With two outs in the bottom of the frame, The Hall once again put a pair of runners on. Taylor Hill laced a deep double that scored Kelsey Carr, but pinch-runner Jessica Muniz was narrowly thrown out running home, keeping Seton Hall down 3-2 through five innings.
- Butler added another two runs over the next two innings to extend the Pirates deficit to 3, 5-2. As the bottom of the seventh inning arrived, The Hall needed to score at minimum three runs to keep the game going.

- Carr would lead off the inning with a solo home run to reduce the deficit to two runs. However, the Pirates could not find those two runs and fell 5-3 in game run.
- After closing game one in relief, Kyra Kreuscher returned to the circle to open game two. Through three innings, Kreuscher dominated the Bulldogs, facing only nine batters and retiring the final eight in order.
- In the fourth inning, a costly Pirates error would lead to two runs, sending The Hall down 2-0 at the end of the frame.
- Butler would add two more runs to put The Hall down 4-0 entering the seventh inning.
- Seton Hall could not find an answer, however, as they scattered three hits on their way to a 4-0 defeat.
