To open the individual program in the 1000 Freestyle, Allie Waggoner had a fight on her hands. From the start of the race, the Blue Hen's Lauren Hartel sat by her side, ready to challenge the BIG EAST Champion. However, slowly but surely, Waggoner pulled away little by little. Eventually, she touched the wall with a time of 10:16.79, six seconds clear of her competition. Waggoner and Hartsel had a similar battle in the 500 Freestyle, but Waggoner came in second by 1.33 seconds with a time of 5:04.45.
Aside from Waggoner, Natalie Heim continued her strong season in two tightly-contested races. In the 200 Freestyle, Heim avoided a Blue Hen chase down, securing victory by 0.10 seconds with a time of 1:52.60. Later, in the 100 Freestyle, she was on the flip side of that situation. Heim finished second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 52.52, 0.16 seconds behind first place.
While the Pirates did not win the 50 Free, a pair of Pirates earned a hard-fought 2-3 finish in the event. Naima Hazell earned second place with a time of 24.59, while Lea Moeller touched milliseconds behind with a time of 24.62.
Towards the end of the meet, in the 100 Butterfly, a first-year Pirate found her way onto the podium. Shun Qi Lim placed first in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 59.79, half a second clear of the next closest swimmer.
