
Aguilar Leads Pirates in First Career Tournament

The Hall places ninth at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Freshman Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) shot a 1-under-par, 71, to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to a ninth place finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sunday.

Aguilar picks up her first sub-par effort in only her third collegiate round thanks to five birdies and nine pars. For the tournament, she was 5-over-par with a 74-76-71-221 to tie for ninth among 83 individual golfers. Princeton's Catherine Rao won the individual title at 5-under-par.

As a team, The Hall was able to jump one spot in the standings thanks to a 12-over-par, 300, in round three. For the tournament, the Pirates were 46-over-par with a 310-300-300-910. Princeton won the team title at 10-over-par.

After two disappointing rounds, sophomore Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) had three birdies and 12 pars in route to an even-par, 72. For the two-day event, she tied for 50th at 17-over-par with an 83-78-72-233.

Senior Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) finished her tournament with a 7-over-par, 79. For the tournament, she shot a 12-over-par, 73-76-79-228.

Freshman Amelie Gras (Elancourt, France) completed her first collegiate tournament with a 6-over-par, 78, on Sunday. For the tournament, she was 16-over-par with an 82-72-78-232.

This snack area offers a variety of food and snacks for a quick bite or a relaxing meal. The Cafe's open dining area overlooks the courses and provides the perfect compliments to a round of golf.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field was comprised of 12 other teams including: Akron, Columbia, Central Arkansas, Central Michigan, Delaware, Harvard, Jacksonville State, Princeton, Richmond, Towson, Yale and Youngstown State.

THE FORMAT
Teams played five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE
The field played two continuous rounds (36 holes) on Saturday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and a single, final round on Sunday. Sunday's shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. Seton Hall was paired with golfers from Youngstown State and Akron for the first two rounds on holes 11 through 14.
