
BIG EAST All-Academic Team Includes 85% of Seton Hall Athletes

Seton Hall had 229 student-athletes on the prestigious list for the 2023-24 year.
NEW YORK - The BIG EAST Conference announced on Tuesday the 2023-24 BIG EAST All-Academic Team and 85% of all Seton Hall student-athletes were named to the team for posting a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the academic season. In all, 229 Pirates earned the prestigious academic distinction.

Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the BIG EAST's 11 member schools and five affiliate institutions. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.

Seton Hall student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom with its overall cumulative grade point average now sitting at an all-time record 3.531 In addition:

- 159 student-athletes made Seton Hall's Dean's List in Spring 2024
- 36 student-athletes graduated with honors this past May
- 39 student-athletes earned the department's academic merit award for graduating with at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA
- Three graduating student-athletes earned the highest GPAs within their respective colleges: Mark Walier (Stillman School of Business), Madeline Field (School of Diplomacy and International Relations) and Josephine McCartney (College of Arts and Sciences), all graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA
