Seton Hall Inducts New Class of Student-Athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma

South Orange, N.J. – Thirty-two Seton Hall University student-athletes were inducted into the 2026 class of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, the athletics department announced Monday. Inductees were honored in an early-morning ceremony at the Seton Hall University Library's Rotunda Room on April 23.

The 2026 group of honorees joins over 500 Seton Hall student-athletes who have been inducted into the prestigious group since 2011. Founded in 1996 by Nick Mourouzis, a long-time football head coach at DePauw University, the non-profit organization was established to recognize varsity letter winning college athletes at four-year accredited college and universities.

In order to earn this distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 with at least junior academic standing and be of exceptional moral character.

As stated by the organization, its purposes are to:

Encourage and reward high academic scholarship of college athletes at four year accredited colleges
To recognize outstanding academic achievements by intercollegiate varsity sport student-athletes
To encourage good citizenship, moral character, and friendship among the high academic achievers in college athletics
To recognize and honor the individual athlete, his/her team, sport, athletic department and university
To mentor and provide leadership to other athletes.
