
Making the Grade: Seton Hall's Cume GPA Now Above 3.30 12th Straight Years

South Orange, N.J. – Seton Hall University student-athletes continue to make the grade when it comes to academic success in the classroom. After the calculation of Spring 2026 semester grades, the department's cumulative GPA is above 3.30 for the 12th consecutive year, coming in at 3.534. This is also the third consecutive year and fourth out of the last five that the cumulative GPA is above 3.50.
Additionally, 152 student-athletes made the Seton Hall Dean's List during the Spring 2026 semester, representing 61 percent of the student-athlete population. To achieve Dean's List designation, students must have a 3.4 GPA or higher during the semester.
All 14 programs currently boast cumulative GPAs above 3.10 with women's tennis at the top of the department at 3.771. Men's cross country has the highest GPA among the male sports at 3.746. Nine of Seton Hall's 14 teams have a cumulative GPA above 3.50.
Seton Hall's teams combined to post a 3.527 GPA in the 2025-26 academic year with men's cross country leading all teams at 3.811 and women's tennis leading the female teams at 3.792.
In the Spring 2026 semester, the Pirates combined for a 3.493 semester GPA as women's tennis led all teams at 3.849 and men's cross country led the male teams at 3.834.
Men's soccer, which has developed five CSC Academic All-American selections since 2020 and earned an NCAA Tournament at-large bid in 2025, has the second-highest men's cumulative GPA at 3.662. At the end of the 2025 season, Sam Bjork was named a CSC second-team Academic All-American, his second career Academic All-America honor, and Agustin Resch was named CSC third-team Academic All-American.
Men's basketball, a 21-game winner with a fourth-place finish in the BIG EAST, continues to boast a strong academic profile as it completed its 11th straight academic year with a cumulative GPA over 3.0.
Women's basketball, which earned a national postseason berth for the 10th time in the last 12 postseasons played, also continues to show its academic strength. The program has a 3.441 cumulative GPA.
Seton Hall Athletics continues to be a leader and developer of the best and brightest in the nation. Annually, over 85 percent of the department's student-athletes achieve at least a 3.0 GPA in the classroom and receive numerous honors and accolades in support of their achievements. Seton Hall supports its student-athletes with outstanding mentoring and tutoring, led by the Academic Support Services staff, and offers its student-athletes a state-of-the-art learning environment in the Charles W. Doehler Academic Center for Excellence, which consists of a main study area, group meeting spaces and private tutoring rooms.
