South Orange, N.J. - Three members of the Seton Hall men's soccer team were named to College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District team; senior Rikard Cederberg (Gothenburg, Sweden), junior Konstantin Donalies (Bremen, Germany), and junior Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina).
The All-District team recognizes the nation's top soccer student-athletes for their combined performances on the pitch and in the classroom. Athletes must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
Cederberg appeared in 16 of 18 games this season, starting 13 of them on the Pirates' backline that gained national notoriety for its defensive prowess. Cederberg contributed two goals, one of which being a game winner in a 2-1 victory over Butler, and one assist this season.
Donalies was a constant presence in the Pirates' midfield this season, appearing in 15 games and starting 12 of them. The Bremen, Germany, native logged the sixth-most minutes on the team and provided an assist in the Pirates 3-2 victory over Harvard.
Resch was a dominant force along the Pirates backline this season and a major reason the The Hall had one of its best defensive seasons since the turn of the century. The Argentinian appeared in and started all but one game for the Pirates this season, helping the Pirates defense collect eight clean sheets, the most since the 2004 season. After the Pirates season opening 1-0 victory over FIU in which he scored the game-winning goal, Resch earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors. By season's end, due to his defensive influence and importance to the team, Resch earned Second Team All-BIG EAST honors .
