CHICAGO – Graduate student Perri Lucas (Chicago, Ill.) and Senna Roberts-Navarro (Honolulu, Hawaii) had 12 kills apiece, but the Seton Hall women's volleyball team fell in four sets, 3-1 (25-23, 13-25, 22-25, 13-25), on Friday.

The Hall surprised DePaul with a dramatic 25-23, first-set victory, but the Blue Demons regrouped and won the final three sets.

Lucas had 12 kills, and only two attack errors, while Roberts-Navarro had 12 kills to go with eight digs and three blocks. Maddie Klungel (Napa, Calif.) collected a double-double with 34 assists, 11 digs and four blocks.

Junior Asli Subasili (Tekirdag, Turkiye) had four kills and a career-high 10 blocks, the highest total for any Pirate in a single match since the 2017 season.

SET 1:
After a back-and-forth first set, The Hall assumed control late. With the score tied at 22, the Pirates took a 23-22 lead on a DePaul attack error and entered set point on a kill by Lucas. After the Blue Demons cut their deficit to one, another kill by Lucas put the set in the Pirates' win column, 25-23. The Hall had an impressive .353 attack percentage in the opening stanza.

SET 2:
Trailing 7-2, The Hall scored six in a row, and a block by Subasili gave it an 8-7 lead. DePaul bounced right back, however, with seven unanswered to reclaim a 14-8 advantage. A kill by Maddy Loiselle (Tampa, Fla.) cut The Hall's deficit to 19-13, but DePaul scored the next six points to close out the set and tie the match. The Blue Demons had a .500 attack percentage in the second set.

SET 3:
The Hall scored the first point of the third set, but DePaul scored the next four and never trailed again. A kill by Grace Turner (La Grange Highlands, Ill.) cut Seton Hall's deficit to 11-10, but the Blue Demons responded with six of the next seven points to grab a 17-12 advantage. A Lucas kill brought the Pirates to within four points, 19-15, but DePaul answered with five of the next seven points to enter set point at 24-17. With their backs against the wall, The Hall rallied with five straight points, but ultimately, DePaul won the third set, 25-22.

SET 4:
An ace by Faith LaMacchia (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) cut The Hall's deficit to 10-8, but DePaul bounced back with a 12-3 run to take an 22-11 advantage. The Blue Demons went on to win the fourth set, 25-13, as they had a remarkable .607 attack percentage, which included 17 kills and only one attack error.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Lucas had 12 kills, only two attack errors, two blocks and a .238 attack percentage.
Roberts-Navarro had 12 kills, eight digs and three blocks.
Klungel had 34 assists, 11 digs, four blocks and two kills.
Subasili had 10 blocks and four kills.
Loiselle notched eight kills and only two attack errors.
Junior Mason Woo (Burbank, Calif.) had a team-high 19 digs.
Seton Hall recorded a .197 attack percentage for the match, while DePaul attacked at .336.
The Pirates had 43 kills, while DePaul had 68.
The Hall recorded 46 digs, while the Blue Demons had 70.
Seton Hall collected 12.0 blocks and DePaul had 1.0.

NEWS & NOTES:

The Hall falls to 8-14 overall on the season and 2-9 in the BIG EAST, while DePaul improves to 16-7 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
Seton Hall is now 21-9 all-time against DePaul, but has dropped the last three matches in the series.
The Hall falls to 5-8 this season in four-set matches this season.
Subasili's 10 blocks are the most since Haley Gasser had 10 at Princeton on Sept. 6, 2017.
Klungel's double-double is her team-leading eighth of the season and the 14^th of her career.
Klungel topped 30 assists in a single-match today for the 11^th time in the last 12 matches and the 15^th time overall in her career.
Seton Hall had at least 10.0 blocks in a single-match for the ninth time this season.
