
Pirates Claim Victory Against Monmouth in Inter-State Battle 117-85

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's swimming rebounded from their loss against Towson, defeating Monmouth 117-85 in an inter-state battle.
How It Went
Mandy Zajdzinski opened the Pirates individual program with a dominant win in the 1000 Freestyle with a 10:29.86, 33 seconds clear of second place. with a 5:04.24. Later on in the meet, Zajdzinski went on to finish second in the 100 Freestyle later in the meet with a 53.55.
Senior Allie Waggoner won twice this week, in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle. The Moorestown native touched the wall with a 1:56.37 and a 5:05.92, respectively. This was Waggoner's first 200 Freestyle of the season.
In the sprint freestyle event, 2023 BIG EAST Champion swept both. She claimed the 100 Freestyle in a swift a 52.24, over a second clear of second place. Heim also claimed the victory in her first 50 Freestyle race of the season with a 24.43.
Later on in the meet, Transfer sophomore Shun Qi Lim claimed victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.49. This was Lim's first win since the season opening meet against Rider.
The Pirates secured the victory by the time the 200 Freestyle Relay came to close out the meet. The lineup of Naima Hazell, Mandy Zajdzinksi, Carys Graville and Natalie Heim claimed victory over Monmouth with a 1:37.56, totaling a three second difference between the two teams.

The Pirates' swimmers are back in the pool on Saturday, October 26, when they travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the Bucknell Fall Invitational.
