
Fricker Leads Hall to Finish at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. – Sophomore George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) shot his second-consecutive sub-par round to fuel the Seton Hall men's golf team on the final day of the Loyola Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Fricker had six birdies and eight pars in route to a 1-under-par, 71, on Tuesday. He was the top Pirate golfer for the tournament as well, tying for 45th place among 108 individual golfers with a 2-over-par, 78-69-71-218. Drake's Lucas Scherf won the individual title at 12-under-par.

As a team, the Pirates shot a 3-over-par, 291, on Tuesday. For the three-day event, The Hall placed 16th with a 12-over-par, 301-284-291-876. Utah Valley won the team title at 21-under-par. Fellow BIG EAST competitor, Marquette, finished one stroke behind for second place at 20-under-par. St. John's, a third BIG EAST school, finished two strokes behind the Pirates at 14-over-par.

Angus O'Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) had four birdies on his way to a 2-over-par, 74, on Tuesday. For the tournament, the sophomore tied for 51st with a 3-over-par, 75-70-74-219.

Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) struggled early, but was even-par over his final 11 holes on Tuesday. He finished with a 4-over-par, 76. For the tournament, he tied for 55th with a 4-over-par, 73-71-76-220.

Junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) had six birdies and eight pars, but a rough No. 9 hole prevented him from a spectacular round. In the end, he was even-par for round three. For the three-round event, Sun shot an 11-over-par, 75-80-72-227.

Freshman David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) rounded out the Pirates' scoring for the tournament. He had three birdies and 10 pars on Tuesday for a 2-over-par, 74. For the event, he was 13-over-par with an 81-74-74-229.

Competing as an individual, junior Brody Hanley (Lantana, Texas) finished the tournament with a 26-over-par, 80-81-81-242.

Teams played five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
