Micah Gray goes off for a season-high 22 points.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Sophomore Micah Gray (Oklahoma City, Okla.) erupted for a game-high 22 points and the Seton Hall women's basketball team downed Bryant, 73-45, in Walsh Gymnasium on Sunday.

Although The Hall led by eight at halftime, the Pirates took control for good with a game-changing 18-0 run in the third quarter.

Gray had 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting, including 6-for-10 from three-point range. Graduate student Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.) was a second Pirate to score in double-figures. She had 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting.

Senior Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) continued her impressive season start with seven points, a career-high eight assists and three steals.

THE STORY:
Both teams had an underwhelming start to the game, combining for 18 turnovers in the first 10 minutes, but the Pirates' offense turn on in the second quarter. Leading 20-18, The Hall went on a 9-0 run to grab a 29-18 advantage with 2:35 left before halftime. A Bryant three-pointer with 1:17 to go sent the Pirates into the locker room up, 29-21.

The Pirates, and in particular Gray, took over in the third quarter. The Hall outscored the Bulldogs, 30-9, in the quarter, and received 15 points from Gray on 5-for-6 shooting from three-point range. Leading 37-38, Seton Hall went on an 18-0 run, keeping Bryant scoreless for 5:03. A driving layup by Satterfield with 1:16 left in the quarter gave The Hall a commanding 55-28 advantage.

In the fourth quarter, Bryant cut their deficit to as few as 24 points, but couldn't get closer.

THE NUMBERS:

Seton Hall was 30-for-59 (50.8%) from the floor for the game, while Bryant was 17-for-34 (50.0%). The Hall was 8-for-18 (44.4%) from three-point range, while the Bulldogs were 4-for-11 (36.4%).
Gray had a season-high 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting, which included 6-for-10 from three-point range
The Hall out-rebounded Bryant, 26-to-23, which included a 9-to-1 edge on the offensive glass.
Satterfield had 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the floor with two assists and two steals.
Seton Hall was 5-for-9 (55.6%) from the free-throw line, while Bryant was 7-for-10 (70.0%).
Wright finished with seven points, a career-high eight assists, only two turnovers and three steals.
Seton Hall forced 30 turnovers, while the Bulldogs forced 15. The Hall had a 26-to-11 advantage in points-off-turnovers.
Freshman Savannah Catalon (Burleson, Texas) continues to impress. She finished with seven points, three steals and three assists.
The Pirates had 12 fast-break points, compared to none for Bryant.

THE NOTES:

Seton Hall improves to 2-1 on the young season, while Bryant drops to 1-1.
The Hall is now 2-0 against Bryant all-time.
Tonight's victory was the 498^th of head coach Anthony Bozzella's career. He needs just two more to reach the remarkable milestone of 500.
The Pirates improve to 118-46 in Walsh Gym during the Bozzella era. Furthermore, the Pirates are now 59-12 against non-conference opponents at home.
Seton Hall recorded season-highs in field goal percentage (.508), three-point field goal percentage (.444) and turnovers forced (30).
With five points today, Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) surpassed the 800-points mark for her career.
With eight points today, Azana Baines (Blackwood, N.J.) surpassed the 700-points mark for her career.
With two steals today, Wright surpassed the 100-steals mark for her career.
