Newark, N.J. - In peak 2020 fashion, Seton Hall and Iona put together a game in under three days, giving the Pirates their home opener and the Gaels their season opener. The matchup marks a reunion of teacher and student as Pirates head coach Kevin Willard faces off against one his mentors in Gaels head coach Rick Pitino. The two worked together for 10 years with the Boston Celtics and Louisville Cardinals.

The Hall will be looking to keep a streak alive; the Pirates have won 15 consecutive home openers dating back to the 2005-06 season. The last home opening loss came in 2004-05 against Richmond.

Seton Hall makes its FS1 season debut on Monday with Scott Graham and Jim Spanarkel on the call. Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will deliver the radio broadcast on AM970 The Answer, simulcast on the Pirate Sports Network and the TuneIn App.
