Seton Hall Men's Basketball to Face Charlotte as Part of "The Blueprint Philadelphia" on Nov. 9

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — Seton Hall men's basketball will take the floor at one of college basketball's most historic venues on Monday, November 9, 2026, when the Pirates face Charlotte as part of THE BLUEPRINT Philadelphia at the Cathedral of College Basketball at The Palestra in Philadelphia. The Seton Hall–Charlotte matchup will be part of a marquee men's college basketball doubleheader that also features Penn against Howard University.

More than simply two basketball games, THE BLUEPRINT Philadelphia will celebrate a unique intersection of basketball and American history:
100 Years of The Palestra.
250 Years of America.

The event brings four Division I programs together in Philadelphia during a historic year for both the city and one of college basketball's most iconic venues.

Seton Hall will bring the tradition of BIG EAST basketball to The Palestra for an early-season matchup against Charlotte. Playing at The Palestra provides the Pirates with an opportunity to compete in one of the sport's most recognizable environments while giving Seton Hall alumni and fans throughout New Jersey, Philadelphia and the surrounding region an opportunity to see the Pirates on a historic stage. The Pirates will face a Charlotte program with a proud basketball tradition, creating an intriguing non-conference matchup as both programs begin their 2026–27 seasons. The doubleheader will also feature Penn vs. Howard, giving fans the opportunity to see four Division I programs compete during one event at the Cathedral of College Basketball.

The concept behind THE BLUEPRINT Philadelphia connects two historic milestones taking place in 2026. Philadelphia provided a blueprint for America. The Palestra provided a blueprint for college basketball. The United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary in 2026, placing Philadelphia — the birthplace of American independence — at the center of a historic national celebration. At the same time, the 2026–27 college basketball season celebrates 100 years of The Palestra, which opened on January 1, 1927 and has become one of the most recognizable and celebrated venues in the sport. THE BLUEPRINT Philadelphia will bring those two stories together through college basketball. Two Milestones. One City. One Legendary Stage. Few buildings are as closely connected to the history of college basketball as The Palestra. Located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, the arena has served as the stage for generations of legendary players, coaches, rivalries and championship moments. Its intimate setting and connection to Philadelphia basketball have earned The Palestra its longstanding reputation as the "Cathedral of College Basketball." For Seton Hall, the November 9 matchup provides an opportunity to be part of the building's centennial season while competing in front of one of the country's most passionate basketball communities.
