Seton Hall Finishes Sixth at Villanova Invitational

MALVERN, PA. – Senior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) notched his 14^th top-10 individual finish and the Seton Hall men's golf team placed sixth at the Villanova Invitational, which completed play on Sunday.

Yeom had two birdies to fuel a 4-over-par, 75, in Sunday's third round. He was the Pirates' top individual finisher for the tournament with a 5-over-par, 73-70-75-218. Yeom finished three strokes behind a trio of golfers atop the individual leader board.

Collectively, Seton Hall matched its first round score of an 8-over-par, 296, in round three. The Pirates completed the three-round event with a 28-over-par, 296-288-296-880. Appalachian State won the team title at 12-over-par. Three other BIG EAST schools were also in the field. Georgetown finished third at 21-over-par, while St. John's placed fifth at 25-over-par. Villanova ended the event in seventh place at 30-over-par.

Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) tied for the best round for the Pirates on Sunday, finishing with a 2-over-par, 73. After a rough front nine, the freshman was 3-under-par on the back nine, which included four birdies. Ramachandran tied for 13^th place overall with a 6-over-par, 76-70-73-219.

Senior Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) and sophomore Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) finished the tournament tied for 26^th place overall at 10-over-par. Nagai was consistent throughout the event, firing a 74-74-75-223, while Tait matched Ramachandran for the top Pirate score with a 2-over-par, 73, in round three. For the tournament, he shot a 76-74-73-223.

Junior Alex Chalk (Castle Douglas, Scotland) shaved 10 strokes off his second round score to log a 4-over-par, 75, in round three. For the tournament, he was 20-over-par with a 73-85-75-233.

Sophomore Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas), competing as an individual, shot a 3-over-par, 74, in round three. He tied for 24^th place overall with a 9-over-par, 72-76-74-222, for the tournament.

Redesigned and completely renovated in 2003, highly rated course architects from Bobby Weed Design of Pointe Vedra Beach, FL created a jewel. The course re-opened to rave reviews and accolades in August 2003, winning an award as U.S. Course Renovation of the Year (Golf, Inc.).

Golf Digest named White Manor's golf course as one Pennsylvania's Top 25 Golf Courses in 2015. Our course was also recognized as the #3 "Modern Design" golf course and the #14 overall in the state, by Golf Week Magazine in 2013.

The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Villanova, the small field included Appalachian State, VCU and Delaware. BIG EAST opponents Georgetown and St. John's are also competing in the tournament.

Seton Hall will return to action, Oct. 8-9, for three rounds of golf at the Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, W.Va.
