BRIDGEPORT, W.VA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to action starting Monday with three rounds of golf at The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club, October 8-9.

The Course:
Pete Dye Golf Club ingeniously weaves mining remnants and rambunctious terrain into a course that tempts and tests you from the opening tee shot to your final putt. Spread out over 250 acres amidst the Appalachian Mountains, the fairways bob and weave through wildly rugged terrain and Dye's graceful earth sculptures. From 2004-2009, Pete Dye GC course played host to an annual PGA TOUR/web.com event. The Pete Dye Golf Club gained national recognition as host to the PGA Nationwide Tour 2004-2009, ranks #46 among Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Courses, and is #9 on Golfweeks' Best Modern Courses.
The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host West Virginia, the field includes 12 other schools: Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green State, Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, James Madison, Marshall, Ohio, Rutgers and Winthrop. BIG EAST foes Georgetown and St. John's are also members of the field.

Last Time at Pete Dye:
Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) turned in a then career-best 3-under-par performance to lead the Pirates to a 10th place finish at The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational last fall.

Yeom finished a strong second round today, before beginning his third round. The result was a pair of 2-under-par, 70's, the eighth and ninth sub-par rounds of his collegiate career. Yeom's final round featured a bogey on the 11th hole, but birdies on holes No. 6, No. 12 and No. 18. He finished the tournament tied for third among 84 individual golfers with a 3-under-par, 73-70-70-213. Marshall's Alex Weiss won the individual title at 8-under-par.

Collectively, the Pirates shaved 10 strokes off their first round score in round two, but gave five back in round three. The Hall finished 10th in the talented 16-team field with a 24-over-par, 301-291-296-888. Bowling Green State won the team title at even-par. There were no other BIG EAST Conference competitors in the field.Â

Yeom notched his 14th career top-10 individual finish and the Pirates placed sixth at the Villanova Invitational, which completed play on Sunday.

Yeom had two birdies to fuel a 4-over-par, 75, in Sunday's third round. He was the Pirates' top individual finisher for the tournament with a 5-over-par, 73-70-75-218. Yeom finished three strokes behind a trio of golfers atop the individual leader board.

Collectively, Seton Hall matched its first round score of an 8-over-par, 296, in round three. The Pirates completed the three-round event with a 28-over-par, 296-288-296-880. Appalachian State won the team title at 12-over-par. Three other BIG EAST schools were also in the field. Georgetown finished third at 21-over-par, while St. John's placed fifth at 25-over-par. Villanova ended the event in seventh place at 30-over-par.

The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Akron and Boston College for the first two rounds. On Tuesday, a single final round will be played with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. Pairings will be determined by the results of the first two rounds.
