Pirates Grind Out Scoreless Draw With Butler

South Orange, N.J. – Junior Laura Dramis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) made three outstanding saves Thursday night, as the Seton Hall women's soccer team put on an excellent defensive display in a 0-0 draw against visiting (RV) Butler in a BIG EAST Conference match on a chilly evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.
Turning Point
In the 29th minute, Butler's (8-1-2, 1-0-1 BIG EAST) Halle Stelbasky fired a rocket off a breakaway down the right side of the field, but Dramis was in prime position and made a highlight reel save.
Later, at 61:46, a well-placed shot from the top left of the box from BU's Breann Pempek looked destined for goal, but Dramis timed it perfectly and was able to make a last minute stab at the ball to deflect it out of play.
In the final minutes of regulation, the Pirates (0-6-4) gained momentum when sophomore forward Marissa Aniolowski (Enfield, Conn.) got the crowd at Owen T. Carroll on its feet with several acrobatic flip throws on out of bounds plays, but the Pirates were unable to sneak one past the keeper.
The Bulldogs had one final chance with two seconds remaining in the final overtime period, but Dramis made one more spectacular diving save to secure the shutout.
