PRINCETON, N.J. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to action on Saturday for the first two of three rounds of action at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club, April 8-9.

The Course:
Dating back to 1895, Springdale Golf Club is one of the oldest in New Jersey. Designed by Gerard Lambert and revised by William Flynn in 1926, the walkable course requires precision shot-making and has superior conditions and playability. The property, which was originally private farmland, was purchased by the Class of 1886 and gifted to Princeton University with the expectation of establishing one of the first courses in the region. The private club has a close relationship with the University, and counts many university professors, administrators and students among its members.  With a fine and experienced PGA staff, the club hosts numerous tournaments, collegiate matches, clinics and golf outings every year.Â

In addition to Seton Hall and host Princeton, the field includes 12 other schools:Â Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Georgetown, Harvard, Minnesota, Penn, Rider, Rutgers, Saint Joseph's, Temple and Yale.

The Seton Hall Lineup:
Sophomore Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) shot a 1-over-par, 73, in Sunday's final round to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a sixth place finish at the 2017 Towson Spring Invitational on March 25.

Collectively, the Pirates shaved three strokes off their first round score with a 10-over-par, 298, and jumped one spot to sixth place in the final standings. For the tournament, they finished with a 23-over-par, 301-298-599. The Hall finished 12 strokes behind the team champion, Elon.

The top Pirate finisher for the two-round event was sophomore Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines). Nagai shot a 3-over-par, 75, on Sunday, and finishes the tournament with a 5-over-par, 74-75-149. He tied for 18th place among 120 individual golfers, seven strokes behind the individual champion, Bethune-Cookman's Daniel Brennan.

Last Time at Princeton:
Yeom fired a 1-under-par, 70, in the final round of the 2016 Princeton Invitational to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a ninth place team finish.

Yeom finished the weather-shortened, 36-hole event in a tie for 20th place with a 3-over-par, 75-70-145. Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) was the top Pirate finisher for the tournament, firing a 1-over-par, 71-72-143, to tie for 12th place among 82 individual golfers.

For the tournament, the Pirates finished at 19-over-par with a 296-291-587. Duke won the team title by a staggering 34 strokes over second place Harvard. They were 25-under-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, Georgetown finished just four strokes ahead of it in eighth place.

Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Harvard and Georgetown in round one with golfers teeing off of the first tee beginning at 9:10 a.m. Second round tee times on Sunday for Seton Hall will begin at 1:55 p.m.
