Relays Showcased at Bucknell Invitational

Lewisburg, Pa. – The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team won the 200 meter freestyle and 200 medley relays on Saturday afternoon at the Bucknell Invitational as the team wrapped up its regular season. Other teams in the meet included American, Bucknell, Lafayette, Navy and Shippensburg.
Senior Tessa Lindner (Sun Prairie, Wisc.), sophomore Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.), freshmen Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio) and Clara Capone (West Hartford, Conn.) got the day started with a 1:39.05 finish in the 200 free relay in event one.
Later, the quartet of senior Kelsey Buonaiuto (Miller Place, N.Y.), Decker, Lindner and Capone took home the 200 medley relay after touching in 1:49.43.
Buonaiuto also finished second in the 100 backstroke (59.18) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.92). Junior Sydney Simpson (Tallahassee, Fla.) placed fourth out of 37 in the 100 breast (1:07.65) and second out of 45 in the 100 butterfly (57.83).
Freshman Elizabeth Sargent (Trumbull, Conn.) won the 200 back with a time of 2:07.18, and senior Paige Anderson (Pennington, N.J.) finished just behind her after touching in 2:07.76.
Up next, the Pirates will spend the next three weeks training before heading to Long Island to compete in the BIG EAST Conference Championships Feb. 22-25.
