Pirates Showcase Depth in 184-110 Win at Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team won 10 individual races and two relays in a decisive 184-110 victory over host Rider in a non-conference dual meet at the Maurer Center Friday evening.
Sophomore Aitana Robinson (London, Ontario), freshman Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio), senior Tessa Lindner (Sun Prairie, Wisc.) and freshman Clara Capone (West Hartford, Conn.) got the Pirates off on the right track by winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:51.00 in the first event.
Freshman Sara Ouellette (Granby, Conn.) won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.80, the 200 backstroke in 2:07.12, and 200 individual medley (2:13.14).
Freshman Gabrielle Van Tassell (Staten Island, N.Y.) took home the 1000 free in 10:39.06 and 500 free in 5:13.83. Robinson won the 200 back with a time of 59.88 and Lindner (59.46) won the 100 fly.
Senior Cece Henry (St. Charles, Mo.) earned the top spot in the 200 fly after touching in 2:12.70. Capone continued her stellar rookie campaign with a 24.81 finish to win the 50 free, while sophomore Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.) won the 100 free in 16.59.
The quartet of Capone, Decker, junior Kylene Ronayne (Springfield, Pa.) and McCardle took home the 400 free relay in an impressive 3:41.49.
Up next, The Hall returns home on Saturday, Jan. 21 for Senior Day and a 1 p.m. dual meet with visiting Marist. The team will then take square off with UConn the following day at 1 p.m. in Storrs, Conn.
