Tickets to Next Home Game: vs. Villanova (1/20, 9 PM)
NEWARK, N.J. - Sophomore Khadeen Carrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) paced the Pirates with 17 points but Seton Hall was stopped by visiting Creighton, 82-67, on Saturday at Prudential Center.

The Hall (12-4, 2-2 BIG EAST) saw its eight-game home winning streak snapped as Creighton moved to 12-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play behind 20 points from Geoffrey Groselle and a double-double from Maurice Watson Jr. (13 points, 14 assists).

Senior Derrick Gordon (Plainfield, N.J.) matched a season-high with 14 points off the bench while sophomore Isaiah Whitehead (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 10 points for SHU.

Freshman Veer Singh (New York, N.Y.) chipped in seven points and sophomore Ismael Sanogo (Newark, N.J.) led all players with nine rebounds.

A fastbreak layup from Gordon gave Seton Hall its largest lead of the day at 22-17 with 8:32 to play in the first half but Creighton responded with 14 of the next 16 points and went on to take a 41-33 advantage into the break.

Carrington connected on a jumper to cut the deficit to 14 at 71-57 with 6:55 remaining but The Hall would pull no closer as Creighton won for the fifth time in the last six games.
Turning Point
After Desi Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y.) got to the rim for a layup that pulled the Pirates to within 10 at 45-35 with 18:34 to play, a rapid response by Watson on the other end ignited a 13-3 run for the Bluejays that stretched the gap to 20. The Hall inched as close as 14 three times down the stretch but Creighton was able to hold off SHU and prevent what would have been a third-straight comeback victory for Seton Hall in the series.
Inside the Numbers
        - Carrington led the team in scoring for the fourth time this season after doing so twice as a freshman last year. The sophomore scored 12 points in the second half and has now scored 10+ points after halftime seven times this season including two of the last three outings

        - Gordon has now scored in double figures in two of the last three outings after also recording 10 points in a win over DePaul. The senior reached double figures in each of the first two games of the season as well and is averaging 9.8 ppg in four BIG EAST appearances

        - Singh knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the contest, recording 2+ triples for the second-straight game and the fourth time this season. Over the last five games, the freshman is 9-of-18 (.500) from downtown

        - Whitehead has now scored in double-figures in all four BIG EAST games and has topped the 10-point mark in eight of the last nine games overall.

        - Three of Sanogo's game-high nine rebounds came on the offensive end and the sophomore has now pulled down at least three offensive boards in each of the last five games

        - The Pirates shot 42.1 percent from the field (24-of-57) and have converted on over 40 percent of their field goals in 15 of 16 games this season

         News & Notes
- The result comes after The Hall swept the season series against the Bluejays last season and ends a stretch in which the two teams had played three consecutive games that were decided by one point

        - The Pirates had won their first eight home games of the year prior to Saturday, opening 8-0 at home for the fourth time in the last five seasons

        - SHU has allowed over 70 points in consecutive games for the first time this season. The Hall is 10-0 when allowing 69 points or less

         - The all-time series between the two programs remains in the Pirates' favor as Seton Hall is 8-4 in 12 meetings with Creighton, including a 6-3 record at home

        - Seton Hall law student Braeden Anderson (Okotoks, Alberta) matched a season-high with 13 minutes while Singh logged a season-high 18 minutes
