Bush, Mallon Lead Pirates in Regular Season Finale at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, MD. - Senior Megan Mallon (Glen Mills, Pa.) and junior Melody Bush (Guelph, Ontario) picked up victories as the Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team closed the regular season at the Navy Invite Saturday.
The Hall scored at least one top-five finish in eight other events at the eight-team competition that included American, Bucknell, Lafayette, Loyola (MD), Shippensburg and hosts Navy on the women's side.
Bush totaled two individual top-five finishes, one less than junior Tessa Lindner (Sun Prairie, Wis.) who was also a part of a runner-up showing in the 200-medley relay.

- Bush sped her way to a 100-back win with a season-best time of 57.28 that was just .5 seconds off her own school record pace. Freshman Aitana Robinson (London, Ontario) posted a time of 58.88 that was good enough to earn a tie for third while Paige Anderson added a sixth-place mark of 59.64.
- Mallon delivered the fastest opening leg of 31 100-breast competitors and was able to carry that pace to a winning time of 1:06.93. Sophomore Sydney Simpson (Tallahesse, Fla.) reached the wall in 1:08.36 as the Pirates split the top-four spots with Bucknell.

- Bush also recorded a team-best 200-back time of 2:04.31 to lead a group of three SHU women among the top-nine. Anderson placed eighth in 2:09.91, one spot ahead of Katie Adams (Linwood, N.J.) (2:11.32)
- Lindner posted a 1:57.45 mark in the 200-free to rank third out of 38 entrants. The junior later swam her way to a fourth-place time of 24.73 in the 50-free (92 entrants); wrapping the meet with the trio of top-five performances after taking fifth with a 100-free time of 53.63 to open her program. Bush (10th) and freshman Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.) (13th) also logged top-15 times
- Junior Cece Henry (St. Charles, Mo.) recorded a 400-IM mark of 4:41.43 to place third as the Pirates claimed half of the top-six spots in the event. Courtney Regan (Southbury, Conn.) and Kylene Ronayne (Springfield, Pa.) reached the wall fifth and sixth respectively.
- Simpson highlighted The Hall's 100-fly efforts with a fifth-place time of 58.47, finishing as one of three Pirates with multiple top-five individual performances at the meet.

- Robinson, Mallon, Lindner and McCardle were just over .5 seconds outside the top spot in the 200-medley relay, finishing second among 29 squads by finishing in 1:48.86
- Lindner and McCardle also teamed with Ronayne and Kat Carosn (Katy, Texas) to turn in a 200-free mark of 1:40.03 to claim fourth out of 31 teams

- Senior Gabby Signorelli (Massapequa, N.Y.) dove her way to a score of 233.25 from the oine-meter board to rank seventh out of 17 competitors in the event

The Pirates will get several weeks off from competition before traveling to the Nassau Acquatic Center for the 2016 BIG EAST Championships from February 24-27.
