BLACKSBURG, VA. - On day two at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships hosted by Virginia Tech, 46 men took to the one meter board while 27 women competed from three meters and once again, the elite field featured three divers representing Seton Hall.
Sophomore Gabby Signorelli (Massapequa, N.Y.) was the Pirates' top finisher on the day, placing 32nd in three-meter competition with a six-dive score of 213.95. Teammate Katie Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) wasn't far behind, ranking 33rd in preliminary action with a 212.85 mark.
It is the first appearance at Zones for both Signorelli and Riley and the Seton Hall tandem placed 39th and 49th respectively in one meter competition on Monday.
Junior Ben Mitchell (Milford, Pa.) finished 27th from the three-meter board on the first day of his second consecutive trip to the regional championships and went on to place 34th on Tuesday with a score of 235.55 from one meter.
Holding a total of four BIG EAST championships and six medals among them, the trio from The Hall were once again the only divers from the conference in action at the meet.
