SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - For the second straight year, the Seton Hall soccer programs will partner with the Go 4 The Goal Foundation and host "Lace Up For Pediatric Cancer" games on Sunday, September 16 when the women take on Villanova and on Wednesday, October 3 for the men's contest against Providence.
On these dates, the Pirates will don gold shoelaces to raise awareness for the foundation. The laces became a staple of many athletics programs at Seton Hall during the 2011-12 academic year and helped Go 4 The Goal raise approximately $1,600. In addition, the laces will be available for purchase at the games.
"Go4theGoal is honored to have Seton Hall athletics participate once again in our Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign," said co-founder and executive director Beth Stefanacci. "Last year, the women's soccer team was an integral part of helping launch this movement, not only at Seton Hall, but across the country! Our appreciation extends beyond our organization. Helping Go4theGoal makes a difference in the lives of kids affected by cancer has impacted many kids both locally and nationally."
