John Murphy

Associated with Seton Hall Athletics for nearly 30 years, John Murphy was appointed assistant coach for the men’s basketball team in 1960 and worked in that capacity for 10 years, also coaching the freshman basketball team for eight. Through his years at The Hall, he served as coach for the freshman baseball and men’s tennis teams, was later appointed business manager for the athletic department, and was named Assistant Athletic Director in 1986. He was selected as a charter member of the Newark Sports Hall of Fame.
