John Macknowsky played for Seton Hall from 1941–43, served in the Navy from 1943–46, and then returned to the Pirates from 1946–48. He was instrumental in guiding The Hall to a 24-3 season in 1946–47, and scored 544 points during his career. He played for the Syracuse Nationals in the NBA from 1948–52, but a broken wrist abruptly ended his career.
