Kauschke's Brace Powers Pirates to 3-0 Win Over FDU
9/15/2025 12:02:00 AM | Men's Soccer
The Pirates dominated offensively in the opening half, outshooting FDU seven-to-one by the midpoint. However, despite numerous high-quality chances, the game entered the break tied 0-0. The Hall did not let those shortcomings get to their head, however, as Joseph Min and Til Kauschke combined to score three goals in the second half to secure a 3-0 Seton Hall victory over the Knights.
With the draw, The Hall moves to 2-1-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening 15 minutes of this clash against local opposition left plenty to be desired by both sides. In that span, the teams combined for one shot, five fouls and a yellow card, all while looking for that extra offensive push.
At the 16-minute mark, Hugo Gerbore launched a shot over the top of the goal, marking the key momentum-shifting moment for the Pirates' offense. For the remainder of the first half, Seton Hall outshot FDU 6-1 with multiple high-quality chances inside the box. The Pirates' best chance of the half came in the 24th minute when Til Kauschke just missed a potential goal, sailing the ball over an off-line FDU keeper and the crossbar. After quelling the Knights' lone attacking chance of the half, The Hall entered the halftime break upset at their missed chances in what was a 0-0 draw.
Coming out of halftime, the Pirates stuck with a pair of forwards, Joe Waight and Joseph Min, that helped provide offensive pressure at the end of the first half. That decision would pay dividends almost immediately for the Pirates' coaching staff. In the 52nd minute, Konstantin Donalies launched a long ball to a streaking Sam Bjork on the right wing. Running down the line, Bjork crossed the ball along the endline to a streaking Joseph Min in the attacking box, who knocked the ball into the net for his first Seton Hall goal, giving the team a 1-0 lead.
Now sitting with the lead, the Pirates continued to search for more goals amid growing pressure from FDU. Despite that, over the next 12 minutes, the Knights outshot The Hall 4-2 without forcing a single save out of goalkeeper Matias Molina. Not long after that fourth shot, that aggression by FDU eventually went too far. In the 66th minute, after the Knights' keeper collected a yellow card on an aggressive challenge, Kauschke stepped to the penalty spot looking to extend The Hall's lead. With a stutter step and ice in his veins, Kauschke sent the keeper the wrong way, allowing him to easily collect a goal to push the Pirates' lead to 2-0.Say it ain't so, Joe (Min)! 🏴☠️#HALLin🔵⚪️ pic.twitter.com/ssXsVVtN4D

A mere two minutes later, in the 68th minute, the Pirates snatched the ball away in the middle third of the field and The Hall began another push. After a touch pass from Min, Kauschke rifled a curving shot from the penalty area into the upper 90 on the near side. The ball flew past the diving keeper, handing Kauschke his first career brace and The Hall a 3-0 lead.As cold as ice🥶#HALLin🔵⚪️ pic.twitter.com/kPkbtBDTqK

Over the final 20 minutes, FDU attempted to find some semblance of momentum, but a stout Pirates defense ensured no quality chances appeared for the visitors. After one final shot sailed over the bar in the 84th minute, the Knights failed to find another chance as Seton Hall secured a 3-0 victory.TIL KAUSCHKE, QUÉ GOLAZO‼️#HALLin🔵⚪️ pic.twitter.com/DiSY8CCsIb
