
Trio Named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

NORMAN, OKLA. – Seton Hall golfers Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas), David Lally (Wickow, Ireland) and Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) were named 2025 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. Â In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Â A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Kahanek had a career-best effort for Seton Hall during 2024-25. The graduate had a 73.57 stroke average for the year to go with two sub-par tournaments, eight sub-par rounds and a second-place finish at the Shark Invitational.

Lally twice tied for second place, including a remarkable 5-under-par performance at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial. He also tallied two sub-par tournaments and eight sub-par rounds, including six during the fall season.

Shah had a nice sophomore campaign, seeing action in 10 of the team's 12 events. He averaged 75.00 strokes per round and cracked the 2025 BIG EAST Championship lineup.
