
Kahanek, Fricker Guide Pirates in Round Two at Vaqueros

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MEXICO. – Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas) and George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) shot an even-par, 72, to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team in round two of the Vaqueros Intercollegiate on Monday.

Kahanek had two birdies and 14 pars in round two and is currently tied for 23rd place overall with a 4-over-par, 76-72-148 for the tournament. SMU's Zachary Kingsland is the individual leader after two rounds at 6-under-par.

Fricker had three birdies and 12 pars to fuel an even-par, 72, on Monday. For the tournament, he rocketed up the leader board, and is tied for 47th place with an 11-over-par, 83-72-155.

As a team, Seton Hall shaved off five strokes from its first-round score to finish with an 11-over-par, 299. For the tournament, the Pirates remain in eighth place with a 27-over-par, 304-299-603. SMU and UTEP share the team lead after 36 holes at 3-under-par.

Seton Hall's leader after round one, David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) had two birdies on Monday in route to a 5-over-par, 77. Through two rounds, he's tied for 26th place with a 5-over-par, 72-77-149.

Junior Jack Bosworth (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) shaved off three strokes from his opening round and finished with a 6-over-par, 78, on Monday, which featured an eagle on the par-5, No. 5 hole. For the tournament, he's tied for 62nd place with a 15-over-par, 81-78-159.

One stroke behind Bosworth for the tournament is freshman Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.). He had a 13-over-par, 85, in round two. After 36 holes, he has a 16-over-par, 75-85-160.

Competing as an individual, senior Angus O'Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) is 29-over-par for the tournament with an 88-85-173.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

The teams will play three rounds over three days. The field will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on all three days.
