
Agustin Resch Drafted by Houston Dynamo FC in 2026 MLS SuperDraft

Pirates’ first SuperDraft selection since 2006, sixth all-time
HOUSTON, TEXAS. – Senior defender Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina) was selected 69th overall in the third round of the 2026 MLS SuperDraft by Houston Dynamo FC.
In 2025, Resch produced one of the best season's by an athlete in program history. The Argentine center back soared on the offensive end, recording a career-high three goals and three assists against the hardest strength on schedule in the nation. With his towering six-foot-six-inch frame, Resch served as the core of a Pirates' defense that neutralized opposing attacks in their tracks on the way to a 0.832 GAA, good for 24th in the nation.
His standout play earned him numerous conference and national honors: Preseason BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, Preseason All-BIG EAST, First Team All-BIG EAST, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-East Region, First Team All-American, Academic All-American, Scholar All-East Region, First Team Scholar All-America and MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. With his litany of awards this season, Resch became the first Seton Hall men's soccer athlete to be named an All-American, Academic All-American, Scholar All-American, All-BIG EAST and one of the four individual BIG EAST soccer awards in program history.
With his selection, Resch becomes only the sixth MLS SuperDraft selection in program history and first in 20 years. Other Seton Hall players selected include Phil Swenda (2003), Luke Vercollone (2004), Ryan McGowan (2004) and Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Famers Peter Scavo (2000) and Sacha Kljestan (2006).
Over the SuperDraft's three rounds, ten BIG EAST players were selected by the 30 MLS teams, good for the third-most of any conference. In total, three UConn players, two Akron players, two Georgetown players, two Xavier players and one Seton Hall player were selected.
