GREENWOOD, IND. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday that Seton Hall men's soccer graduate student defender Sam Bjork (Huskvarna, Sweden) has been named to the CSC Second Team Academic All-America, while senior defender Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina) earned Third Team Academic All-America honors.
CSC Academic All-America honors student-athletes for their combined performance on the field as well as in the classroom. Student-athletes must be at least sophomores with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 to be considered. Student-athletes also must compete in at least 90 percent of team games or start in at least 66 percent of contests.
Bjork, who was also named Second Team Academic All-American in 2023, started all 19 games and played a career-high 1629 minutes during a standout 2025 season for the Pirates. The wingback helped push the Pirates' offense to new heights, tallying a career-high three goals, in addition to two assists, for a career-high eight points. Â On the opposite end of the pitch, the Swede utilized his athleticism against opposing wingers in a Seton Hall defense that ended the season ranked third in the BIG EAST and 25th nationally with a 0.832 goals against average.
In the classroom, Bjork continued to thrive academically in his graduate year after completing his undergraduate degree with a perfect 4.000 GPA. That streak has continued into his pursuit of an MBA in Finance this fall, with the Swede maintaining a perfect GPA in his first graduate term. With his second Academic All-American selection, Bjork becomes the seventh Seton Hall athlete to receive the honor twice, joining Gregory Strohmann as the only other men's soccer player to achieve that feat.
Resch, who earned his first Academic All-America selection, produced one of the most decorated seasons by a player in program history in 2025. The Argentine started all 19 games at the center of the Pirates' backline, logging a career-high three goals and three assists against elite competition. With his towering six-foot-six-inch frame and athleticism, he neutralized opposing attackers and set pieces in their tracks amid the Pirates' historic defensive season.
As a result of his standout performances, Resch has filled his trophy case with both conference and national honors. Alongside this honor, the center back has also been named First Team All-BIG EAST, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-East Region and First Team All-American, as well as MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. He was also the first player in program history to be invited to the MLS College Showcase ahead of the draft on this Friday, December 19.
Academically, Resch has grown academically during his time in South Orange. Over his three seasons, the Argentine has earned a 3.879 GPA in his pursuit of a Finance degree.
