
Pirates Fall To Towson in Road Opener

TOWSON, MD. – The Seton Hall women's swimming and diving team fell to the Towson Tigers 198-99 in The Hall's road opener.
Diving
Senior Nikki Pawar (Lawrenceville, N.J.) finished on the podium again for the second straight week across both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Pawar finished third place in the 1-meter board with a 219.75, while she completed the 3-meter board in second place with a 224.63.
Swimming
Senior Allie Waggoner (Moorestown, N.J.) claimed the first victory of the day for the Pirates in the 1000 Freestyle with a 10:20.01, 16 seconds clear of the next closest swimmer. Later on in the meet, Waggoner touched the wall in second place in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:07.09.
The only person ahead of Waggoner in that event was fellow pirate Mandy Zajdzinski with a 5:04.24. Zajdzinski would also go on to also finish second in the 200 Freestyle with a 1:53.72.
In the 200 Freestyle, 2023 BIG EAST Champion Natalie Heim (Middletown, N.J.) claimed victory in with a time of 1:53.28. Just like last week, Heim claimed her second victory of the day in 100 Freestyle with a time of 52.45.
Alongside the other winners was Mia Sunseri (Wheeling, W.V.). The senior claimed overall victory in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:24.81, a minor improvement from last week against Rider.
In the final relay of the meet, the Pirates claimed second place with the team of Lea Moeller (New Lennox, Ill), Mandy Zajdzinski. Carys Graville (Cardiff, Great Britan) Â and Natalie Heim and a time of 3:32.00.
What's Next
The Pirates' swimmers are back in the pool on Friday as they travel to Monmouth, N.J., to face Monmouth at 3 p.m. Diving, meanwhile will compete against TCNJ at home in Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
