Pirates Drop Road Matchup with Explorers

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - The Pirates fell to the Explorers of La Salle on Saturday, 178-122. It was the final non-conference dual meet for the Pirates on the season.
Freshman Sierra Cripps (Seymour, Conn.) was able to touch the wall first in both the 100 and 200 fly. Cripps paced the pool with a time of 2:05.78 in the 200 fly and then followed up her victory with a time of 57.66 to capture first in the 100 fly.
After some solid swims the previous weekend against Delaware, Marianne Molloy (Toms River, N.J.) picked up right where she left off. The junior took the top spot in her first event of the afternoon, the 100 back with a time of 58.66. She also took second in the 200 yard distance of the same event with a time of 2:05.18.
The Pirates will be back in action when they take on BIG EAST foes Georgetown and Providence in the Berkley Aquatics Tri-Meet from Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The diving portion of the meet will take place in Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 31 with the remainder of the events taking place at the Berkley Aquatic Club in New Providence, N.J. on Feb. 1.
