LAST CONTEST
The Pirates played evenly with Lehigh across 90 minutes, but an early second-half Mountain Hawks goal doomed the Pirates in a 1-0 defeat Saturday night at Ulrich Sports Complex. Seton Hall's best chances to score came early in the first half.  In the 16th minute, a free kick went into the box that freshman Eden O'Leary (Tel Aviv, Israel) got a great head on but the ball went just wide of the net.  In the 28th minute, senior Vittorio Argeri (Genoa, Italy) got a one-on-one opportunity just outside the box and his kick bent in towards the goal but sailed just inches high.
Â
In the 50th minute, Lehigh received a corner kick opportunity, and Natan Rosen's blast reached the box, where Josh Luchini was close enough to blast a kick past the goalkeeper for a tally. Â The Pirates only had one shot on goal the remaining 40 minutes.
Â
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Seton Hall is 12-16-6 all-time against Providence and has lost the last six matches in the series. Most recently, the Friars edged the Pirates with a goal in the 102nd minute of the double-overtime period on Oct. 12, 2018.
Â
The Friars are coming off a 2018 season, which featured a 10-7-2 final record, and BIG EAST Tournament semifinal loss to second-seeded Georgetown. This season, Providence was picked to finish third in the 10-team BIG EAST and has won four of its first six contests. All four of the Friars' wins have come via shutout, while both losses were by just one goal. Providence has out-scored its opponents so far this season, 12-to-4.
Â
QUICK KICKS
After Providence, The Hall will play a local non-conference contest at NJIT on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
