Piscataway, N.J. - The Seton Hall men's basketball team fell behind Rutgers 14-0 and went on to suffer a 68-48 defeat in the 2019 Garden State Hardwood Classic, Saturday at Rutgers Athletic Center.
Senior Quincy McKnight (Bridgeport, Conn.) led the Pirates with 11 points, which included three three-pointers made. The Hall played the second half without senior All-America candidate Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.), who suffered an injury in the first half.
Despite the defeat, since the inaugural Garden State Hardwood Classic in 2014, the Pirates still lead the series with the Scarlet Knights, 4-2.

Rutgers could do no wrong in the first 5:30 of the game, jumping all over the Pirates with a 14-0 run. Sophomore Anthony Nelson (New York, N.Y.) hit a three at 14:01 to end the run and get the Pirates to within 11, the closest Seton Hall got in the game.
The Pirates ended the first half on an 11-4 run to again close the gap to 13, 36-23, but Rutgers pulled away in the second half.
