
Pirates Suffer 1-0 Setback to Stony Brook

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team held possession for the majority of the contest and maintained a steady offensive attack, but ultimately suffered a 1-0 setback against Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field.
The Pirates (1-2-1) finished with a 9-7 advantage in shots including a 5-2 margin during the opening half. Stony Brook (2-2-0) committed 10 fouls to Seton Hall's six as a result of controlled possession for The Hall.
Turning Point
In the 76th minute, Stony Brook quickly flipped the field and got into a two-on-one attack where Michaela Goglia fired a cross from the right side across the box to the toe of Mari Brenden, who buried it into the bottom left of the goal.
The Pirates scraped and clawed to keep the ball on Stony Brook's half of the field, and came away with one final chance in the final seconds when freshmen Sydney Kulenguski (Annandale, Va.) and Claudia D'Angelo (Stoney Creek, Ontario) combined for a pair of shots in the box, but were unable to send it home.
