The Pirates are back in action less than 24 hours after a tough 81-76 loss to Florida in a game that felt like an NCAA Tournament battle. Seton Hall tonight will face Quinnipiac in the first-ever meeting on the hardwood between the two schools. Mike Morgan, Dick Vitale and Andy Katz will have the call on ESPNU and the WatchESPN app. Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will have the radio call on AM970 The Answer, simulcast on the Pirate Sports Network for FREE.
Khadeen Carrington had himself a night on Thursday, scoring a career-high 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He has now reached 20+ points in three of his four games this season (the other game was 18 points), and he now is 57th all-time in Seton Hall history in scoring with 845 career points. He is quickly approaching 1,000 career points and would become just the 41st all-time to reach that mark.
The Hall is continuing to score in the paint at an agressive rate. The Pirates out-scored Florida down low, 34-24, and is outscoring their opponents in the paint by a +80 margin this season, 176-96. Seton Hall has scored 51.8 percent of its points this season in the paint.
Past history suggests The Hall will rebound after last night's loss. The Pirates have played 73 non-conference, regular season games in a row without losing back-to-back games. The last time they lost two games in a row early in the season was in head coach Kevin Willard's first season, falling to Xavier and Clemson at the Paradise Jam Nov. 21-22, 2010.
