Seton Hall Drops Match to Host Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY. - The Seton Hall women's volleyball team scored on just .036 of its attacks as it dropped a three-set decision to Louisville (16-25, 10-25, 21-25) on Saturday morning in its second match of the Active Ankle Challenge.
The Pirates committed 11 attack errors, recording a -.045 attack percentage in a first set loss that set the pace for the rest of the match. For a second straight match, Seton Hall had trouble with the blocking efforts of its opponent. Louisville recorded 16.0 team blocks for the match.
Despite the loss, junior Tessa Fournier (Redondo Beach, Calif.) registered a match-high 18 digs.
Turning Point:
A kill by freshman Cherise Hennigan (Corona, Calif.) gave The Hall a 16-15 lead in set one, but that's when Louisville's defensive front line took over. The Cardinals finished the set on a 10-1 run, which included seven points from blocks. Louisville's momentum spilled over to set two as the Cardinals scored the first eight points. The Pirates never led again for the remainder of the match.
Numbers & Notes:
- Senior Amanda Hansen (Pewaukee, Wis.) and junior Danielle Schroeder (Chicago, Ill.) led Seton Hall with eight kills apiece. Hansen had a team-best .429 attack percentage.
- Freshman Sophia Coffey (Sierra Madre, Calif.) tallied a team-high 16 assists to go with seven digs.
- Freshman Miranda Higginbotham (Dallas, Texas) saw action in her second collegiate match, playing the entire third set.
- Seton Hall falls to 1-9 all-time against Louisville, a former BIG EAST Conference opponent.

Seton Hall will finish play at the 2015 Active Ankle Challenge on Saturday afternoon when it faces Utah at 5:30 p.m.
