GOODYEAR, ARIZ. - Junior Ryan Snouffer (Sparta, N.J.) finished in a 10th place tie to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the Neville Kovacs Group Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Collectively, the Pirates shot a 7-over-par, 295, in round three to move up another spot in the standings. For the three-day event, Seton Hall finished 22-over-par with a 302-289-295-886. The Pirates finished 18 strokes behind the team champion, Utah State.
Snouffer finished a strong tournament for The Hall, shooting a 1-over-par, 73, in round three to end the 54-hole event at even par. His 10th place tie is the fourth top-10 finish in seven tournaments since joining the Pirates at the start of the year. Snouffer shot a 73-70-73-216 to finish nine strokes behind the individual champion, Arizona State's Broc Johnson.
Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) also finished strong for Seton Hall. The sophomore started on hole #5, and bogeyed hole #7, but then finished his afternoon with 15 straight pars. Go's 1-over-par, 73, put him at 3-over-par for the tournament and a tie for 14th place among 100 individual golfers. He finished with a 75-71-73-219.
JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.) was consistent throughout the three-day tournament. The senior shot a 2-over-par, 74, in round three to finish at 5-over-par for the event. Harper tied for 22nd place overall with a 73-74-74-221.
David Cha (Carrollton, Texas) was 7-over-par in round three with a 79. He finished the tournament with an 18-over-par, 81-74-79-234.
After two disappointing rounds, Kevin O'Brien (Wexford, Pa.), saved his best for last. The sophomore fired a 3-over-par, 75, in round three to provide a solid fourth score for the Pirates. O'Brien finished with a 25-over-par, 82-84-75-241 for the tournament.
Seton Hall will now take over a month off before returning to tournament play on March 28 for the first of two rounds at the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational in Grasonville, Md.
