MILWAUKEE, WIS. - Seton Hall fell victim to one of the nation's hottest women's volleyball teams, losing at Marquette, 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 21-25), on Friday. The Golden Eagles have now won seven straight. The Pirates got a team-leading 20th double-double of the season from Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.), but it wasn't enough as first-place Marquette improved to 10-1 in BIG EAST play. Manthorpe finished with a team-best 20 assists and 12 digs.

A kill by Shelbey Manthorpe inched the Pirates ahead, 2-1, in set two, but again a large run put Marquette firmly in front. This time, an 8-1 run gave the Golden Eagles a 9-3 lead and they never looked back. The Pirates never got closer than a five-point deficit and Marquette rolled to a 25-16 set two victory, to take a two-sets-to-none match lead.
Set three proved to be closer, but Marquette ultimately completed the sweep with a 25-21 set three victory. Five straight points put the Golden Eagles in front 7-3 early on, and later took a 14-7 lead, their largest of the set. Seton Hall battled back to cut the Marquette lead to just one point at 18-17, but couldn't pull even and faded late.
