
Wilson Leads MGolf to T-8th at BHI

CHATHAM, N.J. - Freshman Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) fired a 3-over-par, 74, in round two of the 2012 Barnabas Health Intercollegiate to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to an eighth place tie in the fall season finale.
Collectively, the Pirates shot four strokes better in Monday's final round and finished the two-day event with a 52-over-par, 312-308-620. Saint Peter's won the team event with a pair of sub-300 rounds and finish at 19-over-par.
Wilson was consistent throughout the event, logging a 6-over-par, 74-74-148, to tie for ninth among 60 golfers. The freshman had a strong season with a pair of top-10 finishes in five tournaments.
Derrick Kim (New City, N.Y.) and David Cha (Carrollton, Texas) finished with the same score for the tournament, but had opposite rounds. Kim had a strong showing in round one with a 76, but struggled the second round, settling with an 81. Cha had an 81 in round one, but rebounded nicely to shoot a 76 in round two. Both were 15-over-par and tied for 35th place.
Marc Kunesch (Newton, N.J.) was three strokes better in his second round. He finished the two-day event with a 17-over-par, 81-78-159.
Junior Gary Dunne (Wicklow, Ireland), who missed the last two tournaments with tendinitis, made his return to the Pirates' lineup and shot a 20-over-par, 82-80-162.
Freshman Kevin Sanislo (Whippany, N.J.) took the course as an individual and finished with a 19-over-par, 84-77-161, shaving seven strokes off his first round score.
The 2012 Barnabas Health Intercollegiate concludes the fall season for the Pirates.
