William "Bill" Raftery

Induction:
1984

During the 1970s, Coach William Raftery’s teams logged a 154-141 record over 11 seasons for a .522 winning percentage. The 1979 New Jersey Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year, his teams earned berths in four ECAC Tournaments as well as two NITs. He presided over the Pirates during their inaugural season in the BIG EAST. He went on to become a critically acclaimed broadcaster for CBS Sports, ESPN and FOX and called his first NCAA Final Four in 2015.
