Rev. Msgr. James F. Kelley
- Induction:
- 1975
Under the inspired leadership of Monsignor James Kelly, Seton Hall emerged as a nationally respected power in intercollegiate athletics. A remarkable priest, he was named President of Seton Hall in 1935. At the time of his induction, he was the youngest college president ever appointed in the U.S. While a student at Seton Hall, he formed the first school paper, The Setonian, which is still in production today, and the first yearbook, The White and Blue. As an undergraduate freshman, he was a member of the basketball team, and as a junior he was a member of the football team.
