Louis F. Welaj
- Induction:
- 1981
Louis Welaj was third baseman for the Pirates from 1939–42, batting over .400 in his career, and was instrumental in the 26-game winning streak during the 1941–42 seasons. After graduating in 1942, he signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers. However, a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy during World War II deprived him of reaching the Majors.
