A 1991 graduate of Seton Hall, Ian Hennessy was one of the premier soccer players in the program’s history. He played from 1986–89, helping the Pirates win three consecutive BIG EAST Tournament championships, and finished his career as the No. 2 scorer in school history with 134 points. His 52 goals also ranks second all-time, and he is fourth in assists with 30. Hennessy was legendary for his postseason exploits, scoring a goal in every BIG EAST Tournament game he played in and earning the tournament’s Most Outstanding Performer honors in 1986 and 1987. Hennessy was a third-team All-American in 1987 and played professional soccer in the United States for much of the 1990s before starting his coaching career.
