Hector Zamora

Hector Zamora is widely considered one of the greatest men’s soccer players ever to don a Pirate uniform. A two-year captain, he tallied seven goals and 12 assists in four seasons for 26 points from 1989–92, impressive numbers for a defensive player. As a senior, he was a first-team All-American and a first-team All-BIG EAST selection. That season he was also an Adidas Scholar-Athlete All-American and the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Award winner. As a junior he was also a First Team All-BIG EAST performer, leading the Pirates to the BIG EAST championship.
