
Tibbling Signs Contract With Swedsih First Tier Side Örgryte IS

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – Former Seton Hall forward CJ Tibbling '22 signed a contract with Örgryte IS (OIS) in Allsvenskan, the first tier of Swedish football, the team announced Thursday. The deal is slated to run through the 2028 season.
One of the first players to join The Hall after the hiring of current Head Coach Andreas Lindberg in the 2018 season, Tibbling went on to have a storied four seasons in South Orange. The Swede tallied 18 goals and seven assists in 60 games, headlined by a seven-goal, three assist season in 2020 that saw the Pirates claim their first BIG EAST title since 1991 and an NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals berth. During those four seasons at the top of the formation, he was named to three All-BIG EAST teams, one BIG EAST All-Freshman team, as well as being honored as a First Team Scholar-Athlete All-America, a Second Team All-American and Academic All-America.
Last season, with Assyriska FF in the Ettan, the Swedish Third Tier, Tibbling tallied a career-high 13 goals and three assists in 29 games and 2,302 minutes played. His scoring tally landed him ninth in the entire Ettan and the fifth-highest tally in the Ettan Nora, the tier's northern division.
Tibbling joins an Örgryte IS side that finished the 2025 Superettan in third place after regular season play, earning the team a spot in the Allsvenskan playoff. To earn their spot in the Allsvenskan, the team downed IFK Norrköping 3-0 on aggregate in a two-leg home-and-home series.
OIS will begin play in 2026 with a first-round Svenska Cupen group stage match against IFK Värnamo on Sunday, February 22.
