
Pirates Place Second in 2024 Debut

Salisbury, Md. - Junior Stephen Beaman (Johnston, Iowa) led the Seton Hall men's cross country team at the 28th annual Salisbury Fall Classic with a strong 8K time of 25:37.1 as the Pirates finished second as a team in their 2024 season opener Saturday at Winter Place Park.
Beaman ended up finishing eighth overall out of 97 runners. The 25:37.1 time bested his time at the same event last season, when he ran 26:10.30.Â
Seton Hall placed four runners among the top-20 finishers, and those four ended up scoring in the top-13. Behind Beaman was junior Logan Brunozzi (Churchville, Pa.), who finished 11th in the race and scored ninth with a time of 25:44.9. Sophomore Joseph Butler (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) finished 14th and scored 11th with a time of 25:56.3.
Freshman Liam Griffiths (Orlando, Fla.) had a solid Seton Hall debut by placing 18th and scoring 13th with a time of 26:08.6. Also scoring for the Pirates was sophomore Zac Doneth (Easley, S.C.), who finished 38th overall and 26th in scoring with a time of 26:52.3.
Seton Hall's team score was 67 while Johns Hopkins won the meet with a score of 15.
The Pirates will head to Easton Pa., next Friday, Sept. 6 to participate in the Lafayette Fall Preview in a 5 p.m., evening race.
