Heim, Waggoner Break Records on Final Night of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, PA. – The Seton Hall women's swimming and diving team finished up its final day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday night that would see multiple school records be broken.
Diving
On the 3-meter board today, The Hall's divers put in a strong mid-season effort. Junior Amy Kugelman ended the day as the top Pirates with a score of 208.60, while freshman Sarah Behrman ended the day with a score of 200.25.
Swimming
Senior Allie Waggoner entered the day with a chance to swim the rarely-offered 1650 Freestyle and took full advantage of it. The BIG EAST Champion put her stamp on the race, claiming a dominant victory with a time of 16:08.80. That time was not only clear of second place by nearly 25 seconds, but she broke her own school record by nearly 10 seconds. Graduate student Mandy Zajdzinski swam in the heat with Waggoner, finishing with a time of 17:11.05, two seconds off her career-best.
In the 200 Backstroke, freshman Amelia Obszarny was the highest-scoring Pirate swimmer with a season-best time of 2:06.51.
After just missing out on breaking her own record in the 200 Freestyle earlier this weekend, Natalie Heim entered the night with a shot to break another of her records in the 100 Freestyle. While taking second overall in the event, she did break her own record. Her time of 50.12 was a mere 0.03 seconds faster than her school record. In the B-final, Lea Moeller claimed victory with a personal-best time of 50.74.
In the 200 Breaststroke, senior Mia Sunseri ended the day with her fastest swim being a time of 2:19.54, one-tenth of a second faster than her time at this time last year. as the top Pirate with a time of 2:04.81. In the B-final, Lauren Schofield would touch the wall with a time of 2:21.51, a time  second faster than the time she swam at this time last year.
The Pirates would close their individual program for the meet with the 200 Butterfly. The Pirates top finisher on the night would end up being Shun Qi Lim with a time of 2:05.89. That time was good enough for second place in the B-final and a quarter-of-a-second improvement from prelims.

The Pirates return to action in the new year on Saturday, January 18, in Storrs, Connecticut against the University of Connecticut at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium. The meet will begin at 4 p.m.
